Get the Look - Jenna Lyons style - Plus Size edit - Real Housewives of New York

I've been a Jenna Lyons fan since her J Crew days and now that she's on Housewives I make sure to catch each episode so I can see what she's wearing. Her style is American, confident, and always feminine. Jenna also discusses how she didn't grew up teased and insecure. She said the was always the tallest one in class (me too) and the skinniest (I wish).  As a child she was diagnosed with Incontentia Pigmenti, a rare genetic disorder that largely impacted her skin, teeth, and hair. The condition commonly appears at birth or in the first weeks of infancy and is one of a group of neurocutaneous disorders, according to the Cleveland Clinic. The disorder also manifests as scars all over Lyons' body.

“I was really conscious. It’s one of the reasons I went into fashion,” the former J. Crew president said. “I wanted to look better. I was constantly trying to find ways to fit in.”

In fact her signature "unbuttoned shirt look" isn't because she's trying to be sexy. Lyons said it's one of the few areas of her body not covered in scars so she wanted to show it off.

Lyons previously opened up about her genetic condition in a 2012 interview with The Guardian. "It made me introverted, but it was also the reason I loved fashion, because it can change who you are and how you feel, and that can be magical," she said.

Me too Jenna. I feel the same way. Now here are a few ways you can develop some of that Jenna Lyons look and magic on your own!

Don't be afraid to mix patterns. We used to key into a single color but in 2023 and forward I feel like anything goes as long as you have the confidence to rock it.
