Five Ways to Start Living Again
Five Ways to Start Living Again
It’s been two long years that we’ve endured this thing called a pandemic, COVID, COVID-19, or as I call it, “The Rona!”. Regardless of who you are and what you endured, you must admit that the past two years changed you in some way. Maybe, your anxiety increased, maybe you lost loved ones, maybe you learned to cook better, or developed a new hobby. Either way good or bad, Rona changed us all. So, now that restricions are eased, numbers are down, and we are starting to live “normal” again (Is that even a thing?), we can get back to living, and not just existing. Here are a few tips:
- Be Cute
Get out of those big and frumpy sweats, tees, loungewear, etc. Seriously, remember when we used to get cute? Go ahead and be more intentional about your style! Pull out that cute dress you bought online when you were home for the pandemic. That outfit you found on clearance and have yet to wear it out! All those tags waiting to be popped!! Go ahead, pull them out and try it. Have a fashion show in the house until you get that look exactly like you want!! I guarantee you will start to feel like your old self, maybe even better.
2. Do Your Hair
Take off that headscarf or bonnet. Take down the ponytail, or whatever you’ve been sporting, and do your hair! Getting you hair done can make your confidence shoot through the roof! While you are at it, why not try a new color or style? It’s only hair, go for it!!
- Practice daily gratitude
We’ve been through a lot. But guess what? You are still HERE!!! Even though things may not be as desired in your life, you ARE a survivor! Give thanks and gratitude for all those things in your life you do have instead of focusing on what’s missing. Showing gratitude allows you to appreciate all those little things we take for granted, and to allow room for so much more to come into our lives.
- Try something new
Been wanting to try a new style, make-up, hobby, or restaurant? Go for it! What are you waiting for? What’s the worst that could happen? You find out something isn’t for you? Well guess what, it just puts your closer to discovering what is! Step out of that box!
- Love on you
Take some time to breathe and practice self care and love. While I know everyone is anxious to “get back to normal”, we all deserve some grace to ease back into things. Sometimes you may feel overwhelmed or rushed to just do things, but I’m telling you that there is nothing wrong with slowing down and taking care of yourself! Get a massage, facial, mani and pedi. Read that collection of books collecting dust on your shelf that you’ve been “saving”. Go for a walk, hike up a mountain, or just sit and do nothing!! You deserve it, and slowing down for yourself will be make you focused and even more ready to live your life again!
